Who Sank the Bismarck?National Geographic, 8.30pmA CAPTIVATING documentary in which German and British survivors recall the battle that sunk the German battleship Bismarck in May, 1941. Two of the German survivors board a ship heading out into the North Atlantic to capture the first high-definition footage of the wreck of the Bismarck on the sea floor. As interesting as that is and as compelling as it is to see the survivors watching the eerie footage the submersible brings up the most gripping part is the actual retelling of the Bismarck story. CGI animation is used to good effect as survivors from both sides tell of their fear and resolve during a battle that saw thousands of men killed more than 2000 on the Bismarck and about 1400 on the British battlecruiser HMS Hood. The question in the title is whether the Bismarck sank as a direct result of the enormous damage the British navy inflicted on the crippled vessel, or whether the German crew scuttled it.Selling Houses Australia ExtremeLifeStyle, 8.30pmBRITISH real estate guru Andrew Winter (pictured) has found himself a doozy of a problem property up in Port Douglas. Naturally, he gets gardener Charlie Albone and interior designer Shaynna Blaze-Vaughan to do all the hard work while he skives off to eat ice-cream, feed crocodiles and sip cocktails by the pool. When Winter does deign to drop by, Albone lets him know about it: "Here he is, the laziest man in real estate." It's all in good fun, though. What's not fun is the state of the old community centre that middle-aged Jack and Diana bought in the hope of turning into two units, one for their kids to live in and another to rent to tourists. While the kids' unit has been partially completed, the other one is an empty shell without so much as plaster on the walls. As always Albone and Blaze-Vaughn to a terrific job of explaining what they're doing and why.Ace of CakesLifeStyle Food, 8.30pmIS THERE a reality show that Kate Gosselin hasn't been on? First it was American Chopper, then Dancing with the Stars, then Sarah Palin's Alaska. Anyway, Gosselin and her brood of eight turn up to pick up Kate's birthday cake.
