Birthday Wish For Special Cup Cake

IF Get Up Jude has a birthday wish it would be to race at Flemington on the first Tuesday in November - at least that's what trainer Diane Poidevin-Laine says.

Get Up Jude celebrates his birthday today, like all his equine mates at Kembla Grange and around Australia, and this year could be a big one for the five-year-old with the Melbourne Cup on his agenda.

"That's the dream, with him to run in the Melbourne Cup," Poidevin-Laine said.

"Hopefully he can blow out the candle, wish for it and it will come true."

Today is just another day of work for Get Up Jude, who will be among the nominations for the Melbourne Cup when they close next week.

"He'll go to the track in the morning then come home and there might be something extra in his feed bin for him," Poidevin-Laine said.
