THERE was no birthday cake for Kylie Gillies on Friday with The Morning Show host feeling a tad queasy at Luna Park.

Gillies managed two goes on the octopod-style ride with her sons Gus, 5, and Archie, 3 during a family day out.

She maintains a family-first attitude, juggling hosting The Morning Show with being a mother.

The Morning Show celebrates its first birthday this week and Gillies said she was hoping for a present from co-host Larry Emdur.

"We have a lot of fun," she said.

"He's one of the most generous and good-natured people I know."

Gillies is the more cautious of the two, with Emdur taking on the show's extroverted tasks like getting his leg waxed while on air.

However, Gillies was quick to move Emdur out of the way for her interview with the spunky Michael Buble, her favourite of the past year.

"I was in awe of him!" she said.

" He's a really great interview and lots of fun."

A long-time sports presenter with Channel Seven, Gillies will report from the Beijing Olympics.
